The Secretariat appointed Mr. Tran Quang Lam - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transportation, joining the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.
Mr. Tran Quang Lam was born in 1973, hometown in Quang Binh province. He has many years of working in the field of transportation and construction of urban infrastructure. From April 2019, he was the Director of the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City.
In February 2025, Ho Chi Minh City established the Department of Public Transport on the basis of reorganizing the Department of Transport, and received the Standing Office of the Traffic Safety Committee and a number of functions and tasks of state management of infrastructure from the Department of Construction. Mr. Tran Quang Lam has been appointed Director of the Department of Transport and Traffic since this time.
In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City will consolidate the Department of Transportation and the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City to establish a new construction department.
