On February 5, the Government Inspector General chaired a department-level meeting on the results of work in January and the deployment of tasks for February 2026.
The report on the results of January shows that in the month, the leaders of the Government Inspectorate organized many meetings and working sessions with ministries, branches, and localities as assigned; directed departments, agencies, and units to deploy tasks for 2026, and at the same time requested to improve the quality and efficiency of work, and tighten discipline and administrative order right from the beginning of the year.
The Government Inspectorate deployed 39 inspections. Among them, inspection conclusions have been issued for 3 inspections (Conclusion on construction material mines at Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee; conclusion on construction planning in Tien Giang province; inspection conclusion at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); continue to deploy inspections according to plan and unexpectedly.
After 8 inspections, a draft inspection conclusion has been reported to the Prime Minister, focusing on large and complex areas of public concern such as the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project, land management and use and construction permits in Hanoi City; Nam Hoi An Resort; policies for people with meritorious services; private corporate bond issuance and gold business activities.
Concluding the working session, Inspector General of the Government Doan Hong Phong stated clearly that 2026 is an important year in implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, requiring the entire Inspection sector to uphold the spirit of responsibility, discipline, and administrative order; be more proactive and drastic in organizing the implementation of tasks, and not to let delays and backlogs of work occur.
Departments assigned to preside over the implementation of inspections need to continue to seriously implement the 2026 Inspection Plan and assigned unexpected inspections; and at the same time accelerate the progress of building and issuing inspection conclusions, especially inspections directly directed by the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Phenomena and the Prime Minister.
In the coming time, the Inspector General requests units to focus highly on completing inspections. Specifically, Departments I, II, IV, VI are required to urgently advise on issuing 8 inspection conclusions that have been reported to the Prime Minister; accelerate the progress of drafting conclusions of 21 inspections; continue to effectively implement 9 inspections being conducted directly and inspections according to the 2026 plan.
Department IV continues to preside over urging, guiding, and summarizing reports on progress and results of specialized inspections on waste prevention and control.
In addition, Department XIII continues to perform well the task of supervising inspection teams and appraising draft inspection conclusions assigned; Department XIV presides over advising on strict implementation of the Prime Minister's directives, strengthening urging and inspection of the implementation of inspection conclusions, especially conclusions under the supervision of the Steering Committee.
