On the afternoon of June 19, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee organized a meeting program to honor outstanding journalists on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 25-21, 2025).
Speaking at the program, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia said that entering the period of the Doi Moi period, promoting glorious traditions, maintaining the ideological flag, the press continues to promote its leading role, reflecting the aspirations for change and the spirit of reform in the whole society.

Many journalists have not afraid of difficulties, hardships, and dangers; overcome all temptations, traps... to bring their voice from practice to all levels of government, policy-making and implementation agencies. Not only playing the role of critic, the press is also a "sower of hope".
Examples of good people and good deeds, new rural models, initiatives for reforming education, health care, innovative businesses, etc. are introduced, encouraged, and replicated, thereby, the press creates motivation, spreads and inspires action in the whole society.
The achievements and results of the Vietnamese revolutionary press have made important contributions to the team of journalists nationwide through the ages. And the journalists present here today are typical representatives of the generation of revolutionary journalists, truly journalists - soldiers on the Party's ideological - cultural front.

"The individuals honored today have affirmed their mettle, intelligence, enthusiasm, and responsibility towards the country, the nation, the Party, the State, and especially the people.
This is not only an honor for each individual journalist but also a recognition and appreciation from the Party and State for press agencies and the team of journalists nationwide; a testament to the maturity and development of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia assessed.

In line with the general flow, the press is also merging in a streamlined direction, aiming to become a key press agency, stronger, faster, and more efficient. It is necessary to restructure the press system in the direction of priority - professionalism - efficiency.
We need a streamlined but elite team of journalists, strong in expertise, rich in courage, steadfast in ethics, upholding the spirit of humanity, protecting justice and reason.
According to the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Vietnam is entering an important transformation period - a "new era" that requires strategic vision, political will and broad consensus throughout society.
To realize the aspiration to become a developed country, we need to urgently and effectively implement 04 Resolutions of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science - technology and digital transformation; on private economic development; on innovation in law-making and enforcement and international integration in the new situation. All four pillars above are directly related to the future of Vietnam in the new era.
He emphasized that in this process, the press is not only a voice of reflection or propaganda, but also a catalyst, a guiding pen, becoming a creative subject, a creative force to promote the implementation of the "four pillars" effectively and firmly.
