On May 29, Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television organized a seminar "Improving the quality of operation of local press agencies after mergers", with the participation of leaders of press management agencies and experts from many localities.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Vo Hoan Hai - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee - said that the merger of press agencies is not only a change in organizational model or administrative name but also a comprehensive restructuring process of management thinking and operating methods in the digital media era.

The operation of the new model still faces many challenges such as a shortage of high-quality human resources, increasingly rapid digital transformation requirements, and strong competition from social networks.
The seminar was organized to create a forum for press agencies to exchange practical experiences, assess initial results after mergers, identify difficulties and obstacles, and propose solutions to improve the quality of operations in the new period.
Mr. Le Hoang Trieu - Deputy Director in charge of Newspapers and Radio and Television of Khanh Hoa said that local newspapers are not only competing with other press agencies but also strongly affected by social networks and digital platforms.
This requires the mainstream press to continue to affirm its role in orienting information, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, depth and social responsibility in each work.

After the merger, the scope of propaganda is expanded, the scale of agencies is larger, while the requirement to streamline staff is still a difficult problem.
Regarding digital transformation, Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television are gradually implementing the convergence editorial office model, building infrastructure to serve multimedia content production, and strengthening the application of technology and artificial intelligence in professional activities.
However, this process still faces difficulties in technical infrastructure, investment resources and digital human resource training, while technology is constantly changing.
Regarding the financial mechanism, currently the revenue of many local press agencies still depends significantly on the state budget, while traditional advertising revenue tends to decrease.
Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television are operating in parallel with the task assignment mechanism and the ordering mechanism, and at the same time aim to implement complete ordering for 4 types of journalism and level 2 financial autonomy.
Delegates emphasized that financial autonomy does not mean journalistic commercialization but aims to create conditions for press agencies to improve the quality of products serving the public.
Therefore, it is necessary to continue to improve mechanisms and policies suitable to the specific characteristics of press activities.
At the seminar, delegates focused on discussing issues of press agency governance, content production organization, digital transformation, and press development in a modern media environment.
At the same time, propose solutions to improve the autonomy mechanism to improve the quality of operations, invest in technology and affirm the role of revolutionary journalism in information, propaganda, and public opinion orientation.
