On May 29, the Congress of Delegates of the Journalists Association of Lao Dong Newspaper for the 2026-2028 term took place in Hanoi.
Attending the Congress from the Vietnam Journalists Association side were: Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - former Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Ms. Vu Thi Ha - Deputy Chief of Office of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
On the side of Lao Dong Newspaper were: Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper; comrades in the Party Committee, Editorial Board, members, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper.
At the Congress, delegates were briefed on the summary report of the branch's work for the 2023-2025 term and the direction and tasks for the 2026-2028 term; and the review report of the Secretariat of the branch for the 2023-2025 term.
Speaking to direct at the Congress, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper Nguyen Ngoc Hien emphasized that in the past time, Lao Dong Newspaper has achieved many achievements, in which in terms of professional skills alone, in the last 3 years, the Newspaper has won 137 press awards at home and abroad.
In the new term, Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hien noted 3 important contents with the Journalists Association of Lao Dong Newspaper.
First, fostering the ethics of journalists of Lao Dong Newspaper to be dedicated and united, this is the most important factor, the foundation for the Newspaper to be strong.
Second, constantly improve professional qualifications and skills, update new knowledge in the context of strong digital transformation, especially when press platforms in cyberspace are also considered an official information channel of press agencies. Improving professional qualifications and skills must also pay attention to changes and updates according to reader trends.
Third, the Branch needs to pay special attention to developing members to participate in the Vietnam Journalists Association. This also contributes to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of journalists while helping journalists to be trained and foster professional skills, deploy high-quality journalistic works, and enhance their prestige.
Speaking at the Congress, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized that Lao Dong Newspaper is one of the oldest press agencies and one of the truly quality newspapers in terms of content, topics, and journalistic thinking.
Lao Dong Newspaper belongs to the group of leading newspapers in Vietnam, many leaders at all levels and experts have good assessments of the newspaper, especially the press and society.
According to the results of the assessment of the maturity of press digital transformation, Lao Dong Newspaper has been continuously ranked as excellent for 3 consecutive years (in 2023 ranked third, in 2024 ranked first, in 2025 ranked second in the group of central press agencies).
Lao Dong Newspaper continues its mission as a newspaper of the working class, with many improvements in content and form, constantly innovating, and has become a spiritual dish for readers nationwide.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi wished the Party Committee and leaders of Lao Dong Newspaper to pay attention to and continue to consolidate the Journalists Association branch organization.

The Congress of Delegates of the Lao Dong Newspaper Journalists Branch elected the Secretariat of the Branch for the 2026-2028 term, including 5 comrades. At the same time, the Congress voted to approve the Resolution of the Congress of Delegates of the Lao Dong Newspaper Journalists Branch for the 2026-2028 term.
At the Congress, the Executive Committee of the Lao Dong Newspaper Party Committee decided to award certificates of merit to 1 collective and 19 individuals who achieved good results in professional activities and the work of the Journalists Association branch for the 2023-2025 term.
