In the afternoon of July 30, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission - chaired a working session with press agencies on the focus of information and propaganda work.
Also attending were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, along with leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and press agencies.
The working session aims to assess the results of information and propaganda work in the press from the beginning of 2026 to date, and at the same time set out directions and key tasks in the coming time.
Speaking at the beginning of the working session, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet requested delegates attending the working session to jointly participate in speaking, giving opinions on difficult and unfinished issues, pointing out weaknesses and causes to find solutions to overcome.
Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet also proposed 4 issues for delegates to study and advise the Secretariat.
The first is to innovate the methods of disseminating resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee.
According to Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, in the past two months, propaganda work has shifted from reporting on protocol to communication in the direction of analyzing, criticizing, proposing solutions and multi-dimensional approaches to make it easier for people to access and understand.
Second is the role of the press in implementing the double-digit economic growth target. According to the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the press should not only reflect the results of growth but also clarify its specific contributions to this goal.
The third is to evaluate the effectiveness of the new organizational model in the field of information and propaganda after more than a year of implementation. He proposed to clarify the achieved results, bottlenecks, effective models that need to be replicated, and at the same time answer questions about content quality, the level of technology application and the lives of journalists after arranging the organizational structure.
Fourth is to promote the role of the press in arousing the aspiration to develop the country. According to Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, the press must become the mainstream, creating works with spreading power, touching the emotions of the public, contributing to fostering patriotism and national pride.
