The Prime Minister requested to immediately deploy flycams to scan vulnerable areas at risk of landslides to take preventive measures and evacuate residents in Ha Giang.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 101/CD-TTg dated September 30, 2024 of the Prime Minister on urgently overcoming landslide incidents in Ha Giang and responding to the risk of landslides, flash floods, and flash floods.

According to the report of the Standing Office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee, a serious landslide at Km 51 National Highway 2 in Viet Vinh commune, Bac Quang district, Ha Giang province on the morning of September 29, 2024 killed 1 person, 2 people missing and 4 people injured.

The Prime Minister sent his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province and leaders of agencies to continue to implement the work of overcoming the consequences and responding to the risk of landslides, focusing on the following tasks:

The Chairman of the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee continues to direct and implement resolutely, promptly and effectively the work of overcoming the consequences and responding to the risk of landslides, focusing on searching for missing people; rescuing the injured; organizing visits, encouraging and supporting the families of the victims, while ensuring the lives of the people.

The Office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee coordinates, mobilizes necessary forces and means, coordinates, and supports localities in carrying out search and rescue work, responding to and overcoming the consequences of floods, landslides, and flash floods according to regulations.

The Ministry of National Defence shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Transport and localities to immediately deploy flycams to scan vulnerable areas at risk of landslides, promptly detect traces to provide early warning and take preventive measures, evacuate residents; ensure safety for rescue forces.

The Ministry of Transport coordinates with localities to review and provide early warning of traffic routes at risk of landslides; develop traffic diversion plans to ensure the safe flow of goods and travel for people; proactively arrange forces, materials, and means to handle the fastest route clearance when situations arise.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment monitors, warns, and forecasts floods and rains, and promptly provides information on the risks of flash floods and landslides so that relevant agencies and people can proactively deploy response measures.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in accordance with its assigned tasks, closely monitors the situation and promptly directs the implementation of natural disaster prevention and control work, especially landslides, flash floods, and inundation in the midland and mountainous areas of the North.
