On April 26, the People's Council of Ben Tre province, term X (term 2021 - 2026), held its 18th session to resolve urgent matters to review and resolve the contents under its authority.
At the meeting, the People's Council of Ben Tre province passed 9 Resolutions including: Arranging the commune-level administrative units of Ben Tre province from 148 administrative units to 48 units, including 43 communes and 5 wards; merging the entire area and population of Ben Tre, Tra Vinh and Vinh Long provinces into the new province of Vinh Long, with the administrative center located in Vinh Long city; public investment; asset procurement; capital allocation for national target program implementation; adjustment of land price list, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ben Tre province - requested the Provincial People's Committee to urgently implement the Resolutions approved by the Provincial People's Council to all sectors and levels. The implementation must be associated with inspection, supervision, and assessment of actual effectiveness, ensuring that all policies are put into practice.
In the course of implementation, some key contents should be noted such as: Continuing to closely follow the direction of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government and the Provincial Party Committee to complete the organization of the apparatus, arranging administrative units to ensure the prescribed time. Proactively review and promulgate specific regulations to handle a number of related contents to ensure the operation of agencies, people and businesses are continuous, smooth and uninterrupted. Well implementing the work of thoroughly grasping, propagating and orienting ideology in agencies, units, localities and organizations as well as participating in the orientation of public opinion, ensuring solidarity, consensus and highly unified among officials, public servants, officials, workers and people of all strata.
At the same time, synchronously deploy support policies for subjects affected by the arrangement, part-time workers at the commune level to ensure timeliness and compliance with regulations. Prepare all necessary conditions, specify functions, tasks, powers, organizational structure... to ensure conditions for administrative units to come into operation no later than August 15, 2025 (for commune level) and before September 15, 2025 (for provincial level).
