Gia Lai Secretary appointed as Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions

Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary Ho Van Nien was appointed to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

The Prime Minister has just issued a decision to transfer, assign and appoint Mr. Ho Van Nien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions. The term of appointment is 5 years.

Mr. Ho Van Nien (50 years old), hometown of Yang Bac commune, Dak Po district, Gia Lai province, has a bachelor's degree in Law.

Before being appointed as Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Ho Van Nien had a working process closely associated with this locality. During the period 20102013, he was a member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Dak Po District Party Committee. He was then appointed Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee.

From 20152020, Mr. Ho Van Nien was the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XV, 20152020. In January 2016, he was elected as an alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee and then elected as a delegate to the 14th National Assembly in May 2016.

In June 2020, Mr. Nien was appointed as Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, term XV, 20152020 and re-elected as Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, term XV, 20202025. In January 2021, he was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, term 2021-2026.

The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is one of 17 ministries and ministerial-level agencies under the Government. This is a new ministry established on the basis of merging the Ethnic Committee and the functions and tasks of religious management of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
