On June 7, leaders of agencies and departments of Binh Duong province had a meeting with voters.
At the program, voters expressed their interest in reorganizing the apparatus in the locality. The reorganization process will have surplus headquarters, while there is currently a shortage of schools, so will the surplus headquarters be used as schools?
According to Ms. Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Council, the surplus headquarters and assets will be arranged to be converted to function. These headquarters can be arranged to serve as medical, educational and community facilities, not to waste the headquarters.
Mr. Ngo Hoang Minh - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Binh Duong province said that the actual population in Binh Duong is over 3 million people, the population increases every year, so the demand for education will also increase accordingly... The Department will follow regulations, advise on prioritizing the arrangement of surplus headquarters to build educational institutions. Hopefully, the facilities will soon be used effectively, avoiding waste.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, the province has reorganized 91 administrative units in 9 districts and cities into 36, communes and wards. Currently, 9 localities are urgently arranging personnel and facilities for 36 new communes and wards to be put into trial operation from June 15 and officially operate from July 1.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee is also reorganizing 115 provincial-level public service units. Districts and cities currently have 386 public service units. Of these, 11 administrative units will cease operations and dissolve.
Of which, 7 educational centers are transferred to the Department of Education and Training for management. At the same time, 334 kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools will be transferred to the commune level for management. Currently, localities are also rearranging schools in the area.
Schools do not meet the needs of learners
According to records, for many years, educational institutions in Binh Duong have always been overloaded. At primary school level, many schools do not have enough classes, students only attend one session, greatly affecting parents who are workers. Many classes have over 50 students, greatly affecting the teaching and learning process.
In high school, many localities lack schools, students have to study far away, facing many risks of traffic accidents. For example, Ben Cat city, a young urban area with a population of over 364,000 people, has only 2 high schools and 1 continuing education center. Students in Ben Cat have to go to Thu Dau Mot city to study high school.
Many old, surplus headquarters have not been used
In 2014, Binh Duong provincial agencies moved into operation at the Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center building. Some old headquarters of the agencies have been auctioned, some have been arranged to be converted to function. However, there are also many headquarters that have been abandoned for many years.
