Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly resolved to arrange commune-level administrative units in Phan Thiet city as follows:
Merge the entire natural area of 0.48 km2, population of 10,545 people of Duc Thang ward and the entire natural area of 0.39 km2, population of 12,328 people of Duc Nghia ward into Lac Dao ward.
After the merger, Lac Dao ward has a natural area of 1.36 km2 and a population of 37,205 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 0.81 km2 and population of 11,319 people of Hung Long ward into Binh Hung ward. After merging, Binh Hung ward has a natural area of 1.59 km2 and a population of 22,834 people.
After the arrangement, Phan Thiet city has 15 commune-level administrative units, including 11 wards and 4 communes.
Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Bac Binh district as follows: Adjust a part of the natural area of 4.43 km2 of Phan Lam commune to merge into Phan Son commune. After adjustment, Phan Son commune has a natural area of 192.22 km2 and a population of 4,302 people.
After adjustment according to regulations, Phan Lam commune has a natural area of 392.30 km2 and a population of 2,785 people.
After the arrangement, Bac Binh district has 18 commune-level administrative units, including 16 communes and 2 towns.
After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Binh Thuan province has 10 district-level administrative units, including 8 districts, 1 town and 1 city; 121 commune-level administrative units, including 93 communes, 16 wards and 12 towns.
This Resolution comes into force from December 1, 2024.
The Government, People's Council, People's Committee of Binh Thuan province and relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution; arranging and perfecting the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
The Government directed relevant ministries and Binh Thuan provincial authorities to continue reviewing and specifically counting the number of administrative units subject to rearrangement that have not been rearranged in the 2023-2025 period.
Develop plans and roadmaps to complete necessary standards and conditions to ensure implementation of the arrangement in the following years in accordance with regulations.
