At the ceremony, representatives of the Department of Organization and Personnel (DOR) announced a number of changes in the organization and apparatus of the Ministry of Science and Technology after the merger. Accordingly, the merged units of the two previous Ministries of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (before the merger) include: Merging 6 general consulting units of the two ministries, including: Personnel organization, Planning - Finance, Legal, Inspectorate, Ministry Office, International Cooperation.
Merge the Information Center of the Ministry of Information and Communications with the Information Technology Center (IT) of the Ministry of Science and Technology into the IT Center.
Merge the Department of Technology Development and Innovation (DMST) and the Department of Technology Application and Technical Progress into the Department of DMST.
Merge the Department of nuclear Energy and the Department of radiation and Nuclear Safety into the Department of radiation and Nuclear Safety.
Merge the Department of High Technology and the Department of Science and Technology of economic and technical sectors into the Department of Science, Technology and Technology.
Merge the Institute of Information Technology Strategy, the School for Training and fostering IT and Science and Technology Magazine managers; the Academy of Science, Technology and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology into the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy. The Academy is organized by the Prime Minister with functions, tasks, powers and structure, so the merged units will continue to operate until the Prime Minister issues a Decision on functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy.
5 units were renamed, including: The Department of Digital Economy and Digital Society changed its name to the Department of Digital Economy and Society; the Department of Technology Appraisal and Appraisal changed its name to the Department of Technology Appraisal and Appraisal; the Department of Information and Communications Industry changed its name to the Department of Information and Communications Industry; the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises (Department of Science and Technology) changed its name to the Department of Industrial Enterprise Startup; the Department of Information, Statistics and Scientific Appraisal changed its name to the Department of Information and Statistics.
Units ending operations: Department of Science and Technology of the former Ministry of Information and Communications; Department of Information Security of the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung expressed his pleasure at attending the Conference to announce decisions on organization and staff under the new Ministry of Science and Technology and hand over decisions to the transferred and appointed staff. This is our first conference after the merger, marking a new development stage with a new vision and mission.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that at present, the Ministry of Science and Technology has completed the merger of two ministries, the former Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Information and Communications. This is a challenging process, but with the joint efforts and consensus of all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, the results as today have been achieved.
The Minister emphasized that the merger of the two ministries is not only an organizational change but also has profound strategic significance, we not only inherit the achievements of the two previous ministries but also have the opportunity to create new breakthroughs.
The new Ministry of Science and Technology is built with the vision of becoming a pioneer in developing science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation. These are 3 important pillars for the country to break through, develop quickly and sustainably, becoming a high-income developed country by mid-century.
