On the morning of December 21, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Home Affairs held a conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy the tasks in 2025 of the Home Affairs sector.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has drafted a report on work results in 2024 and directions and tasks for 2025.
The draft report stated that as of November 15, 2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs had received and processed 1,516 petitions, including 502 denunciations, 238 complaints and 776 petitions. All petitions were received, considered and resolved in accordance with the procedures, authority and time limit prescribed by law.
Implementing the direction of the Government leaders, the Ministry of Home Affairs has conducted an inspection of the situation of civil servants and public employees quitting their jobs, and the compliance with public discipline and discipline related to people and businesses in Hanoi and Can Tho.
Organize 23/23 inspections at ministries, branches and localities according to the 2024 Plan.
Through inspection and examination work at ministries, branches and localities, the functions and tasks have been well promoted, contributing to improving efficiency, discipline and public service; detecting shortcomings and limitations in mechanisms, policies and law enforcement to report to competent authorities for consideration and amendment of legal regulations accordingly; detecting and recommending competent authorities to handle responsibilities and revoke decisions on recruitment and appointment of cadres, civil servants and public employees according to regulations.
To improve discipline and order, proactively prevent violations in the performance of public duties, the Department of Home Affairs of provinces and cities has proactively developed an inspection and examination plan for 2024 and organized 2,792 inspections and examinations in the field of Home Affairs (including 326 inspections and 2,466 examinations).
Regarding legal work, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued and organized the implementation to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of 9 programs and work plans; reviewed more than 1,000 legal documents and announced the results of systematizing legal documents in the field of state management of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the period 2019-2023.
Of these, 688 documents are still in effect, 37 documents have partially expired, 96 documents have completely expired, 52 documents have been amended, supplemented, replaced, abolished or newly issued; 7 inspection teams were organized to inspect law enforcement work in combination with inspecting legal normative documents.
The Ministry of Home Affairs assessed that the inspection and legal work in 2024 achieved positive results, with timely review, adjustment and recommendations. From there, propose competent authorities to amend and supplement legal documents in the field of home affairs to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, feasibility, consistency and synchronization of the legal system; organize inspections and checks according to plan and suddenly;
