The high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense led by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense - attended the 2025 Turkey International Defense Industry Exhibition (IDEF-2025) in Istanbul, Turkey.
On July 22, the opening ceremony of the Exhibition took place with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and more than 1,000 guests from countries around the world.
Held every two years, the IDEF Exhibition is one of the prestigious defense industry exhibitions in the world, attracting the participation of representatives of the Government, Ministries of National Defense, the Military of other countries, and major defense industry groups in the world.
This year's exhibition brings together defense industry companies, military officials, experts and other stakeholders in the defense sector to introduce advanced technologies and seek cooperation opportunities.
The exhibition displays a series of products and services, including naval, air and army systems, military equipment, security equipment, weapons, ammunition and defense electronic equipment.
The participation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense in the Exhibition demonstrates its interest in international cooperation in the defense industry, affirming that the Government and the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense always create conditions to enhance international exchanges and cooperation in the defense industry sector according to the principle of equality, mutual benefit, respect for Vietnam's laws and other international commitments.
Within the framework of the Exhibition, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien met bilaterally with Mr. Vugar Mustafayev - Minister of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan.
In early May 2025, the two defense ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on defense cooperation. Senior General Hoang Xuan Chien hopes that the two sides will research and promote cooperation in this field, initially through exchanging working delegations to discuss and learn about the capabilities and needs of each side.
The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense is ready to welcome a working delegation of the Azerbaijani Ministry of National Defense Industry to work in Vietnam in the coming time and assigned the General Department of Defense Industry and the Viettel Military Industry - Telecommunications Group to coordinate with the Azerbaijani side to implement specific cooperation contents.
On this occasion, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien would like to thank the Minister for sending the delegation of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan to attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, contributing to the overall success of the Exhibition.
Welcoming delegations, enterprises and Azerbaijan's defense industry establishments to continue displaying products at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition scheduled to be held at the end of 2026.
