In his opening speech, the Prime Minister said that in May, the world situation will continue to develop very complicatedly, unpredictably, with many risks and uncertainties; international organizations lowered their forecasts for economic and trade growth in 2025.

Armed conflicts occur in many regions, fierce strategic competition, escalation... affecting the global economic situation, especially large markets and global supply chains.

In that context, the Government and the Prime Minister have resolutely directed all levels, sectors and localities to resolutely and synchronously implement the tasks and solutions set out, focusing on the arrangement of the apparatus and local government at both levels.

Synchronously deploy solutions to promote economic growth of 8% or more and respond to the new US tariff policy; resolutely deploy the "four pillars" according to very important resolutions of the Politburo.

The socio-economic situation continues to be positive. The macro economy is stable, inflation is controlled, and major balances of the economy are guaranteed.

The deficit, public debt, government debt, and foreign debt are well controlled; growth is promoted; all three areas of agriculture, industry, and services are developing positively.

Cultural and social fields are focused on; social security is ensured, in which the National Assembly and the Government have issued resolutions on specific mechanisms and policies for the development of social housing, programs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide are reaching the finish line; the material and spiritual life of the people is improved.

Political and social stability; national defense and security are consolidated and enhanced, social order and safety are maintained; foreign affairs are promoted. The projects have beenengthening for a long time, with a total capital of about 240 billion USD and more than 200,000 hectares of land being actively resolved.

The Prime Minister said that prestigious international organizations, countries, and partners highly appreciate Vietnam's efforts and results in socio-economic development.

Despite many important achievements, the economy still has shortcomings and difficulties, and there are still great challenges such as pressure to operate the macro economy; production and business in many difficult areas. The real estate market has not improved much; the gold market is still complicated; the situation of smuggling, trade fraud, trading in counterfeit, counterfeit, unknown goods, and food safety is complicated.

Note that ministries, branches and agencies receiving proposals and recommendations from localities and enterprises must resolve and respond clearly, not generally.

Emphasizing the need for a lot of work, high requirements, and limited time, the Prime Minister requested that members of the Government, especially localities, be proactive, dynamic, and creative in focusing on completing tasks with the highest results.

Reported at the meeting, the Ministry of Finance said that the socio -economic situation in May and 5 months of 2025 continued to change positively, better than the previous month and the same period last year; It is the driving force to strive to exceed the targets and tasks of socio -economic development in June and in the coming time.
