Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc signed Decision No. 738/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister terminating the effectiveness of Decision No. 893/QD-TTg dated July 26, 2023 of the Prime Minister on approving the Overall National Energy Plan for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050.
Previously, on February 28, 2026, in Decision No. 363/QD-BCT, the Minister of Industry and Trade approved the Adjustment of the Overall National Energy Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 (adjusting the national energy plan) to be consistent with the adjustment of socio-economic development strategies; changes in administrative boundaries as well as the development of science and technology...
Accordingly, adjusting the national energy plan includes sub-sectors: oil and gas, coal, electricity, new and renewable energy with tasks from basic investigation, exploration, exploitation, production, storage, distribution to use and other related activities.
For the coal sub-sector, adjusting the national energy plan includes contents on forecasting coal supply and demand; developing infrastructure to serve production, processing, transportation, storage; coal import and export.
The goal is to firmly ensure national energy security, provide sufficient, stable, high-quality energy, reduce emissions to meet the requirements of socio-economic development and industrialization, modernization of the country, ensure national defense and security, improve people's lives, and protect the ecological environment.
Quickly exploit and use domestic energy resources effectively in combination with reasonable energy import and export; energy is used more economically and efficiently.
