In Document No. 671/TTg-QHDP dated June 11, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung approved the policy of adjusting the Soc Trang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, according to the shortened procedures according to the provisions of the law on planning and other relevant laws as proposed by the People's Committee of Soc Trang province.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province to take full responsibility before the law and the Prime Minister for the proposed content of approving the policy of adjusting the Provincial Planning according to the shortened order and procedures in Submission No. 186/TTr-UBND dated June 6, 2025 of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province.
Ensure that it does not change the general viewpoints and goals of the Soc Trang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister.
Strictly manage mineral resources in accordance with legal regulations, do not allow corruption or waste to occur causing loss of national resources; the addition of material mines (sand) only serves the supply of sand for filling for component project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1 (not used for other purposes), report to the Prime Minister on the implementation results according to regulations.
Previously, on August 25, 2023, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 995/QD-TTg approving the Soc Trang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
The goal of the Plan is to strive by 2030, Soc Trang will be one of the well-developed provinces in the Mekong Delta; with developed industry, trade, services, modern and sustainable agriculture.
Forming an offshore seaport at Tran De gate and having a synchronous, step by step modern infrastructure system; having a green, smart, sustainable urban system; having enough capacity to adapt to climate change.
By 2050, Soc Trang will become a dynamic development area of the Mekong Delta region associated with the development of Tran De seaport; a province with a fairly developed economy of the whole country, operating under the digital government, digital economy and digital society methods for socio-economic activities; smart manufacturing and service industries with digital economic models, green economy, circular economy...
