VNA reported that within the framework of the State visit to Vietnam from August 31 to September 2, 2025, at noon on September 1, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam, his wife and Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife co-chaired a solemn State-level reception to welcome First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and his wife and the high-ranking Cuban delegation.
Warmly welcoming First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and his wife back to visit Vietnam with the high-ranking delegations of the Party and State of Cuba on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the presence of Comrade Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, his wife and the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Cuba in Vietnam, clearly and vividly demonstrating the solidarity, friendship, and brotherhood between the two countries and once again affirming the support and companionship of the people of the two countries on the path to building and defending the Fatherland of each country.
The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam always remembers and is grateful for the solidarity, comradeship and brotherhood of the Cuban people for the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for national liberation and national reunification, as well as in the current cause of national construction and defense.
The General Secretary expressed his delight that Vietnamese rice is growing well in the friendly fields of Cuba; was pleased that cooperation projects in the fields of energy and biotechnology between Vietnam and Cuba will have specific results in 2025; was especially pleased with the results beyond expectations of the "65 years of Cuba - Vietnam" Program that is spreading to all classes of Vietnamese people; looking forward to new songs from the launch of the composition "Vietnam - Cuba forever resounds the song of solidarity and friendship".
In his opening speech, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez congratulated Vietnam on many important anniversaries in 2025; affirmed that mutual political trust and brotherhood between the two countries have created favorable conditions for cooperation in all fields.

A new approach in economic relations and cooperation guides the two countries to improve the efficiency and sustainability of those linkages, while shaping unprecedented projects in strategic areas such as agricultural - food production, pharmaceutical - biological industry and renewable energy.
