At the meeting with voters of Tan Hoa commune (Can Tho city) on October 10, voter Tran Thanh Dien suggested that the city pay attention to directing the effective use of administrative agency headquarters after the merger, avoiding the situation of vacant land and causing waste.
Voters said that after implementing the policy of merging provinces, districts and communes under the direction of the Party, Government and National Assembly, many offices have not been used properly, and it is necessary to soon have appropriate arrangement plans to promote efficiency.
Regarding the above issue, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen said that the city identified this as an important task, implemented under the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City stated that for administrative headquarters at the commune, ward and city levels, they have basically been arranged and used effectively according to the principle: 3 communes merged, 1 headquarters for the Party bloc, 1 headquarters for the People's Committee, the rest will be prioritized for the police and military forces.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, there are currently two large-scale administrative areas of Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces that have not been exploited. Therefore, the city is developing orientations to effectively promote this public asset block.
"The effective conversion and exploitation of public assets is an extremely important task. The city will pay special attention to ensure not to waste existing land funds and facilities, emphasized the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.
According to Report No. 95 of the Can Tho City Party Committee, the whole city currently has 4,174 working headquarters and career facilities. After the arrangement, 3,026 facilities will continue to be used, 923 facilities are expected to be conditioned internally, the remaining 225 surplus facilities (78 city level, 147 commune level).
Currently, 100% of communes and wards have arranged stable headquarters, qualified to perform tasks.
Based on the data after the review, the Department of Finance will continue to develop a plan to arrange, adjust, and supplement headquarters for city-level units. For headquarters and facilities operating surplus after being arranged and reorganized, they will be implemented according to the forms of asset handling according to the provisions of law on management and use of public assets; in which, priority is given to converting functions to serve as medical and educational facilities for other public purposes.
