President Luong Cuong meets with Egyptian Prime Minister

President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing relations with Egypt.

According to VNA, on the afternoon of August 5 (local time), within the framework of the State visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong met with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed that the visit is an important milestone, opening a new start in the good bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The Egyptian Prime Minister was pleased to learn that the two countries have agreed to upgrade their relations to Comprehensive Partnership, affirming that the Vietnamese relationship is a special historical relationship, established early and promoted by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Prime Minister personally and all senior leaders of Egypt.

President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Egypt and hopes to bring bilateral cooperation to a new level, more strong, substantial and more effective.

Appreciating the cooperation opportunities with Egypt and Africa, President Luong Cuong suggested that the two sides increase exchanges of high-level and all-level delegations, build new legal frameworks, and facilitate bilateral cooperation in all fields.

Agreeing to promote economic cooperation towards sustainability and mutual benefit, the President proposed to facilitate businesses of both sides to invest and cooperate in business in key areas such as logistics, energy infrastructure construction, industrial production, textiles, renewable energy... as well as in new and potential areas such as green transformation, digital transformation, halal...

Impressed by Vietnam's strategic goals, Prime Minister Madbouly said that Egypt is also implementing reforms, restructuring the private sector, attracting foreign investment, promoting the industrial revolution, information technology, green transformation, and minimizing the impact of climate change.

Emphasizing that the two countries have many similarities, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly hopes that the two sides will strengthen cooperation and effectively exploit the room for bilateral relations, including active coordination, towards starting negotiations on the Vietnam - Egypt Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on the basis of equality, balance, mutual benefit, and efforts to increase the value of trade turnover as President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and President Luong Cuong agreed at the previous talks.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister proposed the establishment of the Vietnam - Arab Business Council, affirming that it will be a bridge connecting Vietnam with markets in the Middle East - Africa and Arab countries.

The Egyptian Prime Minister was pleased to welcome Vietnamese investors, affirmed to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to do business in Egypt and was ready to welcome Vietnamese students studying at the University of Islam and schools in Egypt.

The head of the Egyptian government highly appreciated Vietnam's role at the United Nations, saying that he would send a delegation to attend the Opening Ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, scheduled to be held in October 2025 in Hanoi.
