On the afternoon of October 3, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received the Ambassadors of Finland and Canada as well as 4 concurrent Ambassadors who presented their credentials to receive assignments in Vietnam.
Welcoming Finnish Ambassador Pekka voutilainen to take up the assignment in Vietnam, the President suggested that during his term, Ambassador Pekka voutilainen will further promote cooperation in areas that both sides are interested in and have strengths and needs such as science and technology, digital transformation, and circular economy.
Ambassador Pekka voutilainen affirmed that he will make every effort during his term to further deepen the bilateral relationship, especially promoting cooperation in various fields, which is the strength of each country and both sides have needs.
The Ambassador hopes that in the coming time, the two countries will continue to promote cooperation in areas such as clean energy, information technology, and artificial intelligence to promote cooperation between the two countries; at the same time, he hopes that the two sides will organize high-level visits, thereby promoting the development of bilateral relations to become increasingly in-depth and effective.
Receiving Canadian Ambassador James Nickel, the President affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to further deepen the Comprehensive Partnership with Canada on the basis of mutual benefit, in a specific, substantive, positive and effective manner, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
The President hopes that during his term, the Ambassador will connect and promote trade turnover between the two sides commensurate with the potential and advantages of each country; promote increased cooperation in science and technology, national defense and security, education and training, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.
Expressing his pleasure at receiving the assignment in Vietnam, Ambassador James Nickel said that Canada always considers Vietnam an important partner in the region. Affirming that Canada shares with Vietnam on maintaining peace, friendship and cooperation in development, the Ambassador hopes that the two sides will promote defense and security cooperation, peace initiatives; as well as promote economic, trade, investment, science and technology, digital transformation cooperation, etc.
On the same afternoon, the President received the Letters of the four concurrent Ambassadors from Jamaica, Cambodia, Slovenia and Tajikistan.
Speaking at the reception, the President warmly welcomed the Ambassadors appointed to take up the assignment in Vietnam.
pleased to see that, overcoming geographical gaps and fluctuations in the world situation, the relationship between Vietnam and Slovenia, Cambodia, Tajikistan and Jamaica is constantly being promoted and achieving positive progress, the President hopes that in the coming time, the Ambassadors will closely coordinate with Vietnam to continue promoting the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels; enhance exchanges and information sharing, to seek cooperation opportunities and create new momentum in developing relations; promote economic cooperation in potential and strengths of each country, especially key areas that can complement each other.
The President expressed his confidence that during their term of office, the Ambassadors will successfully fulfill their tasks, be a " bridge" for friendship and cooperation, further foster and develop relations with Vietnam.
The President affirmed that Vietnam is always ready to listen to the opinions and proposals of the Ambassadors and create all favorable conditions for the Ambassadors to successfully complete their tasks.
