President Luong Cuong assessed the Vietnam - Japan relationship as one of the current successful models of bilateral cooperation.

On August 22, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Mr. Nakasone Yasutaka - Member of the House of Representatives, Head of the Japan Liberal Democratic Youth Union (LDP) and a Youth Union delegation of 60 members who are lawmakers, local lawmakers, representatives of the private sector and students on a visit to Vietnam from August 20-22.

Speaking at the meeting, President Luong Cuong highly appreciated the LDP Youth Union's selection of Vietnam as one of the first destinations to visit after perfecting the leadership apparatus as well as the rich and meaningful activities of the delegation in Vietnam; saying that these are important and substantial exchanges, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding between the young leaders of the two countries, creating an important foundation in promoting the Vietnam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Head of the Japan Free Democratic Youth Union Nakasone expressed his joy at visiting Vietnam again after 8 years and meeting the President with the Youth Union delegates;

Emphasizing the honor of visiting Vietnam at a historic moment, when Vietnam is enthusiastically organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, expressing patriotism and pride in the heroic historical tradition of many generations of Vietnamese people, especially the younger generation.

Mr. Nakasone expressed his hope and confidence in the further development of Vietnam in the coming time; affirmed that individuals and members of the Youth Union will continue to contribute to promoting the stronger development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

President Luong Cuong suggested that the LDP Youth Union strive to promote visits and contacts between senior leaders, ministries, parliamentarians, and exchanges between localities of Vietnam and Japan; Japan to support Vietnam in industrializing and modernizing the country, implementing development goals, supporting Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply in Japan's supply chain, promoting cooperation in the fields of AI, quantum, semiconductors, and human resource connectivity, especially high-quality human resources.

Mr. Nakasone affirmed that he will continue to promote cooperation exchange activities between the LDP Youth Union and young Vietnamese lawmakers from the central to local levels.

He also emphasized that Japan wishes to promote more implementation of high-quality ODA and FDI cooperation projects in Vietnam, promote cooperation in the fields of national defense and defense, agriculture, green transformation, digital transformation, semiconductors and implement cooperation in the contents of the new pillar of science and technology; affirmed that the ruling LDP wants to create a more favorable living and working environment for the community of more than 600,000 Vietnamese people living and studying in Japan, considering this an important force that has been contributing to the economic and social development of Japan.

At the meeting, some delegates also affirmed the close cooperation in the success of Vietnam Day at Expo Osaka 2025.
