On April 25, the President's Office said that the President Luong Cuong signed the promulgation of Decision No. 689/QD -CTN on April 23 on giving gifts to people with meritorious services to the revolution, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), 80 years of National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2.9.1945 - 2.9.2025).
According to the President's decision, the subjects to whom gifts will be given to people with revolutionary contributions include:
People with revolutionary contributions who are receiving monthly preferential allowances: people who participated in the revolution before January 1945 to the August 1945 Revolution; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor during the resistance war; war invalids, people who enjoy policies such as war invalids, type B war invalids, war invalids who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; people with revolutionary contributions to help the revolution; people who participated in revolutionary contributions, resistance, national defense, international duties and were imprisoned or sold by the enemy and are receiving monthly preferential allowances.
Relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution: relatives of martyrs receiving monthly pension; relatives of two or more martyrs receiving pension; representatives of martyrs' relatives; martyrs' worshipers (in case the martyrs have no relatives).
The gift level for the two groups of subjects mentioned above is 500,000 VND/person, which will be paid once on the occasion of April 30, 2025.
The total budget for this meaningful activity is more than 834 billion VND.
The budget for giving gifts of the President is guaranteed by the central budget according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 14, Article 170 of Decree No. 131/2021/ND-CP.
