On the morning of April 23, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an international scientific conference "50 years of national reunification: The role of diplomacy in creating peace in history and present" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Politburo member and President Luong Cuong attended and delivered a speech at the workshop.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son chaired the workshop.
Former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh sent a recorded message to the workshop.
The workshop took place in a direct or online combination, with the participation of Party and State leaders, leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' units, international scholars, diplomatic representatives of the delegation in Hanoi and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.
The workshop consists of 2 sessions: Session 1 - Vietnamese diplomacy and historic victory April 30, 1975; Session 2 - The role of diplomacy in promoting dialogue, resolving disputes, and creating peace in the current situation.

50 years ago, the Great Spring Victory of 1975 ended the long-term resistance war, completely liberating the South and unifying the country. Vietnamese diplomacy has contributed to that great and great victory of the nation.
