Expected to spend 834 billion VND to give gifts to people with meritorious services on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South

The Minister of Home Affairs is authorized to submit to the President on giving gifts to meritorious people with a total estimated cost of more than 834 billion VND.

On April 18, the Government Office said that it had just issued Document No. 3295/VPCP -KGVX conveying the opinion of the Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on submitting to the President to give gifts to people with meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the unification of the country and 80 years of the founding of the country (2.9.1945 - 2.9.2025).

Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Report No. 1071/TTr -BNV dated 8.4.2025 on submitting to the President to give gifts to people with meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and 80 years of the founding of the country (September 2, 1945 - 2.9.2025), the Standing Prime Minister of the Government Nguyen Hoa Binh has the following opinion:

Agree with the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the above report; Authorization of the Minister of Home Affairs submitted to the President on giving gifts to people with meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, reunification of the country and 80 years of the founding of the country.

The Ministry of Finance shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to balance and arrange funding sources to implement the policy of giving gifts to people with meritorious services in accordance with the provisions of the law on the state budget and other relevant legal documents.

Previously, at the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs, there were 2 subjects who were given gifts, including:

1. People with revolutionary contributions:

- Revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945 who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

- Revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

- Vietnamese Heroic Mothers are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

- Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor during the resistance war are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

- War invalids, people enjoying policies like war invalids, type B war invalids, and sick soldiers who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

- Resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

- People with meritorious services to the revolution are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

- Revolutionary activists, resistance fighters, national defenders, international service workers who were imprisoned or deported by the enemy are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

2. Relatives of people with revolutionary contributions:

- Relatives of martyrs receiving monthly inflation; relatives of two or more martyrs receiving monthly inflation.

- Representative of the martyr's relatives.

- Martyrs' worshipers (in case the martyr has no relatives).

The gift level for the above 2 subjects is 500,000 VND/person/2 times. make a one-time payment on April 30, 2025.

The total estimated cost of giving gifts is more than 834 billion VND.
