On the afternoon of January 16, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo Member, President Luong Cuong presented the decision to appoint Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad, term 2025-2028.
At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office Nguyen Hoang Anh announced the President's decision to appoint 16 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to other countries.
Awarding the appointment decision and assigning tasks, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong congratulated the comrades who were appointed Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies in countries; affirming that this is recognition and appreciation of the efforts and striving of the comrades in the working process, and at the same time is also an honor and glorious responsibility that the Party, State and people trust and entrust.
The President requested Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies to be steadfast in the foreign policy of the Party and State; update and closely follow the goals, requirements, and tasks of building and developing the country, the foreign policy focuses set out by the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress as well as the directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to effectively implement foreign affairs tasks in the coming time.
In which, Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies need to ensure close foreign affairs coordination with national defense and security, creating a solid "three-legged link" to serve the strategy of protecting the Fatherland "early and remotely" and developing the country; firmly grasp the situation to advise and propose to the Party and State to promulgate and update foreign affairs guidelines and solutions, ensuring the highest national and ethnic interests.
The President emphasized that it is necessary to effectively implement diplomacy to serve economic development, making practical contributions to realizing the double-digit growth target in the coming term; and clearly stated that, depending on each area, each Ambassador needs to exploit strengths and characteristics, take advantage of resources for national development; prioritize promoting the search and connection of cooperation in key areas such as science and technology, strategic infrastructure, advanced human resources...
The President reminded Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies to do a good job of community work, especially uniting and gathering the Vietnamese community abroad and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens and businesses in the host country; and at the same time, further promote the human resources and talents of the Vietnamese community abroad, especially intellectuals, experts, scientists, and entrepreneurs.
The President also wished that, with the role of representing Vietnam abroad, Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies would contribute to spreading and promoting the image of the country, culture, and people of Vietnam; promote the role of heads, gather solidarity and unity, and connect cadres in the collective of representative agencies and from different forces into a strong collective, for the common cause.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the appointed Ambassadors affirmed that they will work and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to contribute to realizing the two 100-year goals of the country; comprehensively deploying the foreign policy strategy in the new era, commensurate with the historical, cultural and position of the country.
