On the afternoon of July 1, in Vi Thuy commune, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City met with voters after the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Attending the ceremony was Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong.

At the conference, representatives of the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City reported the results of the 9th Session, the 15th National Assembly and some activities of the National Assembly Delegation at the session.
The representative of the Can Tho City Delegation said that after 35 working days (2 sessions), the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly has completed all the contents of the proposed program.
At the meeting, voters expressed their concern about practical issues after the merger of administrative units.



Voter Dang Thanh Tung (Vi Thuy commune) said that the merger at the provincial level is a major policy with a strategic vision of the Party and State. However, voters are still concerned about the socio-economic development of communes and wards after the merger, especially communes and wards far from the new administrative center.
Voter Dang Thanh Tung shared that some businesses and food and accommodation services in old administrative centers will face many difficulties. Therefore, voters requested the National Assembly and the Government to have appropriate support solutions or policies.
Voter Kha Van Thi (Vi Thuy commune) commented that from July 1, 2025, the new administrative apparatus at all levels will officially come into operation. And voters are very hopeful that after the merger, the new Can Tho City will develop quickly and sustainably as well as the country will develop remarkably.
However, voters still wonder whether, after the merger, will the old localities such as Hau Giang and Soc Trang continue to be invested in developing infrastructure, transportation, industrial parks, and tourism?

Speaking at the meeting with voters, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the new political system of Can Tho City will officially come into operation from today (July 1, 2025) in accordance with the Party's policies and resolutions, implementing the 2-level local government model on schedule, streamlined, efficient, effective, smooth, close to the people, close to the people, promptly serving the practical interests of the people.
The National Assembly Chairman requested that Can Tho promote information propaganda on the merger of provinces and communes so that people clearly understand the purpose and significance of this policy. This is to create consensus and support from the people during the merger process.
In addition, the National Assembly Chairman also requested Can Tho to complete the trial operation, evaluate, review and learn from the difficulties and problems arising in the process of operating the apparatus after the merger. The goal is to ensure the smooth operation of the apparatus, creating maximum conditions for people and businesses.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized the assignment of cadres to travel close to the area to promote the building of the Party, government, the organizational Front and mass organizations. The National Assembly Chairman hopes that these aspects of work must be strengthened and developed more strongly than before.
