On the morning of April 15, local time, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and the high-level Vietnamese delegation left Rome, successfully concluding their official visit to the Republic of Italy, heading to attend the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-152) and conducting a number of bilateral activities in Turkey.
The participation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man is of great significance, as evidence that the Vietnamese National Assembly always takes the lead, actively promotes cooperation within the framework of the IPU; proactively proposes and promotes many initiatives and practical contributions to the activities of the IPU and is ready to work with the parliaments of member countries and the IPU to implement the resolutions and initiatives of the IPU to contribute to maintaining peace and ensuring sustainable development for the benefit of nations around the world.
In addition, the National Assembly of Vietnam has also participated in many leadership and administration mechanisms of the IPU, receiving high confidence from the parliaments of member countries in the leadership and leading capacity of the National Assembly of Vietnam. These are important foundations for the National Assembly of Vietnam to continue to promote its role and contribute on a new mindset, a new position at IPU-152.
In the context of a complexly changing world, the theme "Fourturing Hope, Ensuring Peace and Protecting Justice for Future Generations" of IPU-152 has touched the core concerns of the international community today. This is also the fundamental foundation and prerequisite for solving common challenges and shaping a sustainable future.
Accordingly, the National Assembly Chairwoman will deliver an important speech, sharing Vietnam's vision on global and regional issues, and proposing specific action solutions to promote interparliamentary cooperation to contribute to maintaining peace, stability and promoting sustainable development and prosperity around the world.
In addition, the National Assembly of Vietnam will discuss with parliaments of other countries the roadmap to improve legislative efficiency, supervision and promote multilateral cooperation to realize common goals.
Within the framework of the conference, the National Assembly Chairwoman will have meetings, exchanges, and contacts with parliamentary leaders of countries, IPU leaders and international organizations. Through this, the National Assembly Chairwoman will inform about Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements after 40 years of renovation, Vietnam's vision and aspirations for development in the new era with the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry, high-middle income by 2030 and a high-income developed country by 2045; and convey to the international community the message about the foreign policy of the 14th National Party Congress.
With Turkey, this is the 8-year visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam. The visit is an opportunity for the two sides to strengthen political trust, deepen the cooperation channel between the two National Assemblies in particular, and promote the essence of bilateral relations in general.
