Chairman of the Hungarian National Assembly Kover Laszlo highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Hungary to the socio-economic development of the locality.

On the afternoon of October 20, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Hungarian National Assembly Chairman Kover Laszlo.

At the meeting, the two sides expressed their delight at the positive developments in Vietnam-Hungary relations in all fields, especially since the two countries upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2018.

The two sides exchanged many delegations at all levels, including high-level ones. The economy - trade continues to be a bright spot in the bilateral relationship with two-way turnover from 2020-2024 at about 1 billion USD per year. Cooperation in the fields of national defense - security, education - training, culture, environment... continues to achieve many good progress.

Appreciating the results of the talks between Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Hungarian National Assembly Chairman, President Luong Cuong hoped that the legislative bodies of the two countries would continue to coordinate to create a legal corridor, facilitate efforts to promote cooperation between the two countries, meet the common interests of the two countries, contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

To promote Vietnam - Hungary cooperation to continue to develop more substantially and effectively, the President suggested that the two sides increase contacts and delegation exchanges at different levels and channels to strengthen political trust; promote economic, trade and investment cooperation; national defense - security, science - technology, education - training, culture - tourism and promote people-to-people exchanges to enhance mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, expand new areas of cooperation that the two sides can supplement and support each other.

Agreeing with President Luong Cuong's proposals, the National Assembly Chairman of Hungary said that the legislative bodies of the two countries will coordinate in implementing high-level agreements, supporting the two governments to promote bilateral cooperation in all fields, and soon bringing bilateral trade turnover to 2 billion USD in the coming time; affirmed that the Hungarian Parliament will support the remaining EU member countries to soon ratify the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), supporting the European Commission (EC) to remove the IUU yellow card for Vietnam's seafood exports.

Chairman of the Hungarian National Assembly Kover Laszlo highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Hungary to the socio-economic development of the locality and affirmed that the Hungarian National Assembly and authorities at all levels will continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the community.

On this occasion, the President of the Hungarian National Assembly conveyed President Sulyok Tamas' greetings and invitations to visit Hungary to President Luong Cuong. President Luong Cuong happily accepted the invitation and said the visit would be arranged through diplomatic channels.
