On the afternoon of April 5, local time, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, along with a high-ranking delegation of our country, arrived at I. Karimov Tashkent International Airport, starting a trip to attend the 150th Congress of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-150) and an official visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of IPU President Tulia Ackson and IPU General Secretary Martin Chungong, Chairman of the Uzbek National Assembly Tanzila Narbaeva.
According to the People's Delegation Newspaper, welcoming National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation were: First Vice Chairman of the Uzbek Senate Sodiq safayev; Chairman of the Uzbek Social Democratic Party Delegation "Adolat" (Place) Makhmudova Anvarovna; leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan; and officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation concurrently holding office in Uzbekistan.

This is a working trip of special significance and importance on both multilateral and bilateral levels.
The participation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man in the IPU-150 General Assembly is a special mark, showing the new spirit and high commitment of Vietnam at this important multilateral parliamentary forum, in the context of the current world situation that requires each country to join hands to discuss, share experiences, and propose initiatives to solve common challenges.
The participation of the head of the Vietnamese National Assembly at the IPU-150 General Assembly this time is a vivid demonstration of Vietnam's strong support for multilateralism, attaching importance to the role of IPU, as well as continuing to affirm that the Vietnamese National Assembly is an active, active and responsible member of IPU.
It is expected that within the framework of attending this IPU-150 General Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will give an important speech at the General Discussion Session on the theme "Actions of the Parliament for Development and Social Justice", bilateral meetings with leaders of the IPU Secretariat, leaders of parliamentary committees of countries and international organizations to discuss measures to further promote cooperation with IPU, deepen relations with countries and partners, thereby continuing to enhance Vietnam's participation and contribution in IPU as well as at multilateral forums, taking advantage of the support of international friends and external resources to realize the country's development goals.
On the bilateral level, the official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan by the National Assembly Chairman this time is the first visit by a head of a Vietnamese legislative body, and also the highest visit by a Vietnamese leader to Uzbekistan since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.
