National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man receives Malaysian Ambassador Tan Yang Thai to say goodbye

On the afternoon of August 6, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Malaysian Ambassador Tan Yang Thai to say goodbye on the occasion of the end of his term of office in Vietnam.

At the reception, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated the Ambassador on excellently completing his term and highly appreciated the Ambassador's important contributions in promoting cooperative relations between the two countries in general and cooperation between the National Assemblies of the two countries in particular, thereby contributing to deepening the Vietnam - Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the Vietnam - Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership which is developing deeply, practically and effectively in many fields; political trust, bilateral cooperation in general and between the National Assemblies of the two countries in particular are consolidated and strengthened through delegation exchanges, contacts on Party, State, National Assembly channels, people-to-people exchanges, local exchanges and coordination at multilateral forums; economic cooperation plays an important role and is a bright spot in bilateral relations.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man wished that parliamentary relations between the two countries would continue to be expanded, including promoting the signing of cooperation agreements between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Lower House and Senate of Malaysia, creating a legal basis for promoting cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries; promoting Malaysian businesses to expand investment in Vietnam; strengthening cultural, tourism, education and training cooperation, connecting localities and people-to-people exchanges; continuing to closely coordinate with each other and other ASEAN countries to build a united and unified ASEAN, strengthening intra-bloc cooperation, and promoting the central role in handling strategic issues in the region.

For his part, Ambassador Tan Yang Thai thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive him, expressed his joy and honor in his term of office for making many contributions to the establishment and implementation of the Vietnam - Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including high-level and high-level delegation exchanges taking place regularly; economic, trade and investment cooperation developing substantially and effectively not only in traditional fields but also expanding to fields of cooperation between the two countries with potential and strengths such as oil and gas, agriculture, education and training, digital transformation, renewable energy, science and technology; expressed his belief that the two countries will contribute to promoting the central role, development and solidarity in ASEAN, resolving disputes by peaceful means and international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

On this occasion, Ambassador Tan Yang Thai respectfully sent congratulations to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2nd; sincerely thanked the National Assembly leaders and relevant agencies of the Vietnamese National Assembly for their active attention and support in helping the Ambassador successfully complete his term of office; expressed his belief that with the support of the National Assemblies of the two countries, Vietnam - Malaysia cooperation will continue to develop even stronger in the coming time.

Ambassador Tan Yang Thai affirmed that, in any position, he will continue to nurture the relationship between the two countries in general and between the National Assemblies of the two countries in particular to develop more and more, making practical contributions to maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative and developing environment in the region and in the world.
