Within the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, on the afternoon of July 26 local time, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga met with officials and staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Morocco.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent all the people, cadres and staff of the Embassy his warmest greetings and congratulations.
The National Assembly Chairman said that this is an official visit by key Vietnamese leaders to Morocco at the time the two countries are preparing to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (in 2026); affirming that the community of Vietnamese people/Vietnamese people in Morocco is an important bridge in promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
pleased that the Vietnamese/Vietnamese community in Morocco is always united and connected, the National Assembly Chairman stated that the Party and State of Vietnam always consider the Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese communities as an inseparable part of the nation.
In recent years, many practical policies have been implemented to support our compatriots abroad, including: Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW; Directive No. 45-CT/TW; Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW on overseas Vietnamese work.
Commending the great efforts of the Ambassador personally and the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Morocco, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that in the coming time, the Embassy continue to strongly propagate the resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Central Committee on the work of overseas Vietnamese; coordinate with ministries, branches and functional agencies in Vietnam and Morocco to remove difficulties and obstacles to promote trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. At the same time, find solutions to enhance teaching of Vietnamese language to Mar Mar offese people of Vietnamese origin as well as the Vietnamese community in Morocco.
The National Assembly Chairman assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue to pay attention to embassies, invest in facilities and staffing to better conduct diplomatic work in the host country.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Morocco Le Kim Quy said that the Vietnamese community in Morocco has a history of special formation since the 1930s-1930. Up to now, there are about 300-400 people, of which about 50-60 people have Vietnamese nationality. The community includes not only long-time settlers but also students studying at Morocco's universities and some of the workers.
Although life is still difficult, overseas Vietnamese in Morocco have a tradition of solidarity, compliance with the law, and good integration into the local society. Although far from home, the Vietnamese community in Morocco is always attached to the origin and culture of the mother country, full of love for the Fatherland of Vietnam.
