The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco supported the study and negotiation of a new trade agreement, possibly upgrading the cooperation framework between the two countries.

On July 25, at the headquarters of the Morocco House of Representatives, Speaker of the Morocco House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami presided over a solemn welcoming ceremony for Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco held talks and signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco expressed his confidence that the visit of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will contribute to opening a new phase in cooperation between the two parliamentary bodies, contributing to promoting the relationship between the two countries in priority areas such as agriculture, renewable energy, climate change, phosphate, electric vehicles, textiles, electronic components, tourism, etc.

With the desire that the two countries will continue to build mutually beneficial relations, as a gateway and bridge for each other to access each region's markets, the Speaker of the Maroc House of Representatives supported the study and negotiation of a new trade agreement, the possibility of upgrading the cooperation framework, consolidating and effectively implementing bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the Intergovernmental Committee, studying the possibility of establishing a common mechanism with the participation of the parliament, ministries, branches and enterprises of the two countries.

Assessing that the relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Mar offese House of Representatives has achieved many remarkable achievements through the effective implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies in 2017, regular delegation exchanges, meetings, seminars, and discussions, effective activities of the Friendship Parliamentary Groups in each country's national assemblies, and close cooperation at multilateral parliamentary forums, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his desire to continue to strengthen existing relations, promote mutual understanding and connections between the two countries' parliamentarians, and create momentum to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, for the development and prosperity of the two peoples.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man assessed that the Vietnam - Morocco economic cooperation relationship has made significant progress when in the first 5 months of 2025 alone, two-way trade turnover recorded impressive growth, reaching more than 320 million USD, exceeding the whole of 2024, showing that the two countries still have a lot of confidence to better exploit each other's markets.

On the other hand, the National Assembly Chairman also said that the above results are still modest compared to the potential and suggested that the two sides should increase market information sharing, coordinate to promote free and sustainable trade initiatives in multilateral frameworks, connect businesses, study the possibility of cooperation in production and export to the third market, especially markets where each side enjoys incentives from FTAs, consider negotiating and signing new trade agreements in accordance with the current development context, promote cooperation in strategic industries such as agricultural processing, fertilizer production, renewable energy, etc.
