On February 5, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien chaired a meeting between National Assembly Leaders and the Standing Committee of the Ethnic Council, Standing Committees of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Office on some key tasks in February.
Reporting on the results of work in January and some key tasks for the coming time, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Office Pham Dinh Toan clearly stated that February is the time to focus on preparing thoroughly for the election of National Assembly deputies (NA deputies) of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
This is also the time to prepare to organize the 1st Session - the first session of the 16th National Assembly, agencies will continue to strictly implement Directive 01 on researching, studying, thoroughly grasping, propagating and implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress.
At the same time, urgently update the contents discussed and decided by the Congress into the Action Program of the National Assembly Party Committee, clearly define the roadmap, resources and inspection and supervision mechanisms; strive to fully institutionalize the new and core contents in the 14th Party Congress Document.
Focus on supervising and inspecting the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; deploying plans, tasks and implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; seriously implementing Directive 55-CT/TW on organizing Binh Ngo Tet 2026.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien noted that the workload in the coming time is very large, requesting agencies to promote intelligence, enthusiasm, uphold the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness, timeliness, and high effort.
In which, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested special attention to the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, preparing for the 1st Session of the 16th National Assembly to ensure progress, quality of work, and clear responsibility.
