On the morning of May 13, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired a working session with the National Assembly's Steering Committee for Science and Technology (S&T) development, innovation (IS), digital transformation (CĐS) and the National Assembly's CĐS Steering Committee.
Speaking at the beginning of the working session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated clearly that the leaders of the National Assembly always pay special attention to digital transformation, digitization and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the activities of the National Assembly.
Even before the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57, the National Assembly established the Steering Committee for the Electronic National Assembly Project and actively implemented tasks.
Over the past time, the Steering Committee has organized many meetings, researched, selected options and carried out necessary procedures to build the Digital National Assembly. By September 2024, the National Assembly leaders decided to select Viettel Group to participate in building the Digital National Assembly system.
Up to now, the system has initially been effective, with many practical functions such as document summaries, smart Q&A, supporting lookup and operating software to serve professional work.
It is noteworthy that with not large investment resources from the budget, CĐS in the National Assembly has achieved very encouraging initial results.
In addition, the National Assembly launched the "Digital Literacy" movement with a set of learning materials prepared by the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment. This movement has been widely deployed in the National Assembly and State Audit agencies.
This is a good experience, which can be further researched, improved and shared for other agencies to refer to and apply appropriately to actual conditions.

The National Assembly Chairwoman requested delegates attending the working session to focus on reviewing and comprehensively assessing the results of implementing Resolution No. 57 in the past time.
DS is not just about investing in software, systems or technology platforms, but must create substantive changes in working methods, quality of advice, and operational efficiency. DS is not a slogan but must be substantive, going into operation must be effective" - National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
Along with acknowledging the positive results, the National Assembly Chairwoman also requested delegates to frankly acknowledge the shortcomings and limitations.
Typically, some tasks and projects are still being implemented slowly; the processing of paper documents is still parallel to processing in the digital environment; data is still scattered and lacks synchronization; investment procedures, project approval and hiring of information technology services are still prolonged.
In particular, it is necessary to review the progress of 17 key tasks according to the appendix of the Central Steering Committee on Resolution No. 57 to clearly identify the contents that have been completed, the backlogs and specific causes.
Through practical monitoring, the National Assembly Chairwoman said that many agencies and localities have made very strong progress in CĐS.
For the National Assembly, the main task is to perform the constitutional, legislative, supreme supervisory and decision-making functions of the country. Focusing investment on institutions is also focusing on the current development pillars, meeting the leadership and direction requirements of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and General Secretary, President To Lam.
