On April 23, the Government Office announced that it had just issued Document 3475/VPCP-CN conveying the direction of Central Party Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on implementing the investment project to build Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 and connecting traffic routes (Long Thanh airport project).
The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministries of Public Security, Agriculture and Environment; Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, and Vietnam Airports Corporation to urgently implement to ensure the progress of construction items (especially packages that are at risk of not meeting the schedule), complete synchronously, and put the project into operation according to the direction of the Prime Minister ( basically completed in 2025).
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committee of Dong Nai province direct relevant agencies to ensure timely and complete supply of materials for the project according to the direction of the Prime Minister.
The Ministry of Construction shall preside over and coordinate with investors, review and determine the completion time for each package, component project and the entire project to ensure synchronization when put into operation, promote efficiency, and avoid waste.
Monitor, urge, inspect the project implementation process, promptly handle difficulties and problems, and report to the Prime Minister on issues beyond authority.
The Ministry of Construction, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province and localities and relevant agencies will deploy traffic routes connecting to Long Thanh airport under the direction of the Prime Minister and the Working Group.
The Long Thanh airport project includes 4 component projects: Component project 1 (headquarters of state agencies); Component project 2 (works serving flight management); Component project 3 (essential works); Component project 4 (land service works).
