On the morning of March 12, the National Election Council held a press conference on the preparation for the election day of National Assembly deputies (NA deputies) of the 16th term and People's Council deputies (HĐND) at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
At the press conference, Ms. Ta Thi Yen - Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Delegation Affairs Committee, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Election Council Office - answered some issues of concern to the press.
Regarding press questions related to election preparation work, Ms. Ta Thi Yen affirmed that the preparation for the election has been deployed synchronously, continuously and on schedule according to regulations.
With the active preparation of the entire political system and the concern of voters nationwide, we believe that March 15th will truly become a festival for the whole people, taking place democratically, safely, in accordance with the law and with great success" - Ms. Ta Thi Yen emphasized.
Regarding personnel work participating in the election of NA Deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels, Ms. Ta Thi Yen affirmed that this work was implemented very early, closely and in accordance with the Constitution, the Law on Election of NA Deputies and People's Councils as well as the guiding documents of the Central Government.
Regarding some new points, according to Ms. Ta Thi Yen, personnel preparation and deputy structure have been adjusted in the direction of improving the quality of deputies and increasing the proportion of full-time deputies; focusing on introducing typical experts, scientists, and entrepreneurs in many fields, especially science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
The election also applies information technology in some stages, such as exploiting the national population database to create voter lists, deploying information management software systems, thereby contributing to improving accuracy as well as ensuring greater transparency for voters when participating in the election.
Regarding the question of when the list of elected people is expected to be announced, Ms. Ta Thi Yen said that according to the provisions of the Law, after completing the vote counting, summarizing and determining the election results in localities, the National Election Council will announce the election results and the list of elected National Assembly deputies of the 16th term no later than 10 days from the election date.
For the election taking place on March 15, according to the provisions of the Law, the announcement of the results and lists of winning candidates must be carried out no later than March 25. However, the National Election Council is expected to announce earlier than this date" - Ms. Ta Thi Yen shared.
Also according to Ms. Yen, after having official results, functional agencies will focus on implementing a number of key tasks such as the National Election Council conducting the confirmation of the status of the winning candidate and issuing a NA deputy certificate.
In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee and agencies of the National Assembly prepare the conditions for organizing the First Session of the National Assembly. Here, the National Assembly will implement important contents on the organization of the state apparatus and consolidate leadership positions according to regulations.
