On June 29, Lai Chau Provincial Police held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Public Security and the Director of the Provincial Police on the organization and staff according to the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of administrative units (ADUs) at the commune level.
Specifically, announce Decision No. 5154/QD-BCA dated June 22, 2025 of the Ministry of Public Security on the establishment of the provincial commune-level police; Decision No. 1413/QD-CAT-PX01 dated June 24, 2025 of Lai Chau Provincial Police regulating the organization of the commune-level police under the provincial police.
After the merger, Lai Chau still has 38 police units at the commune and ward levels guaranteed according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security.
Speaking to congratulate and assign tasks, Major General Nguyen Viet Giang - Director of Lai Chau Provincial Police, requested the Police of commune-level units to quickly stabilize the organization, publicize the headquarters and locations for receiving reports, reporting crimes and handling administrative procedures, not to interrupt the work of serving the people.

Also on June 29, Dien Bien Provincial Police announced decisions for: 45 Chiefs of Commune and Ward Police; 224 Deputy Chiefs of Commune and Ward Police; more than 1,500 Commune-level Police officers were arranged and assigned to 45 new communes and wards, after adjusting administrative boundaries and merging commune-level administrative units in the province.
Dien Bien Provincial Police said that leaders and officers of the commune-level police were arranged in accordance with their abilities and strengths, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation.
