Red threads throughout all Party activities
On the morning of November 10, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Central Organizing Committee, and the National Political Publishing House Truth organized a National Scientific Workshop on "Building Regulations on political and ideological work".
General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission attended and gave a speech directing the Workshop.
He emphasized that the Politburo's regulations will aim to comprehensively concretize the system of standard criteria and mechanisms to ensure the building of a truly strong Party in politics, ideology, purity in ethics, solidarity in organization and close attachment to the people.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Ngo Dong Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission - said that political and ideological work is an important and regular task, a red thread throughout all activities of the Party.
In the context of the country entering a new era with many big goals but also facing many challenges, political and ideological work plays an even more important role, with a long-term strategic nature to consolidate the Party's ideological foundation, unify the will and action throughout the Party and the political system, maintain the people's trust, gather the great national unity bloc, encourage all classes of people to overcome all difficulties and challenges, enhance the country's endogenous strength, meet the needs of rapid and sustainable development.
Emphasizing that cyberspace is the new ideological front of the 21st century, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung - former Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office - said that it is necessary to apply technology to measure "public opinion temperature", predict crises and react quickly to bad and toxic information.
He said that cadres working in ideological work need to be equipped with the ability to listen, understand the public, know how to criticize scientifically and dialogue in the language of the times. From there, it is necessary to move from speaking to listening to the people and thinking with the people so that ideological work can truly touch the hearts and intelligence of people.
National Assembly delegate, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son - full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society - mentioned the content of the strategic meaning of "exposure - dialogue - listening" in political and ideological work.
He believes that contact, dialogue and listening, from the perspective of political and ideological work, is also a proactive method of grasping and orienting public opinion.
Proactively leading and shaping social ideology
Concluding the workshop, Mr. Lai Xuan Mon - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee - affirmed that the opinions presented at the workshop had high scientific content, sharp in both theory and practice, very practical and useful for updating, supplementing and perfecting the draft Regulations on the Party's political and ideological work.
Through the presentations and discussions, the Workshop has distilled and agreed on a number of important arguments:
Firstly, political and ideological work must be closely related to Party building, building a socialist rule-of-law state and socio-economic development.
Second, in the era of the digital economy, digital society and social media developing remarkably, ideological struggle is no longer a competition within the traditional "profession - propaganda" scope, but a struggle in the space of awareness, values, beliefs, lifestyle and social standards. Therefore, political and ideological work must take a step forward, proactively leading and shaping social ideology.
Third, the need to issue Regulations on political and ideological work is an urgent requirement to standardize, institutionalize and modernize the way this top important work is conducted in the entire political system.
Fourth, the content of the Regulation must clearly define the criteria, political responsibility, ideology, moral responsibility, lifestyle, and responsibility for performing public duties of the Party Committee and cadres and Party members.
Ensure a thorough understanding of the Party's Guidelines and Charter, the Resolution of the 13th and upcoming 14th Congresses and the Conclusions and Directives of the Central Committee on Party building and rectification. Clearly identify the mechanism for organizing implementation and inspection, supervision, avoid overlap, avoid forms, high feasibility, suitable to the conditions of each region, each level, each type of agency, especially the grassroots level.
