On April 21, Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Chairman of Vinh Linh District People's Committee confirmed that the locality had organized a public consultation on the name of commune-level administrative units after the arrangement.
The plan of the People's Committee of Vinh Linh district given an opinion, is to take the name "Vinh Linh" with the order number, including: Vinh Linh 1 (Entering the town of Ho Xa, Vinh Long, Vinh Chap); Vinh Linh 2 (entered the town of Cua Tung, Vinh Giang, Hien Thanh, Kim Thach); Vinh Linh 3 (imported to Vinh Thai, Trung Nam, Vinh Hoa, Vinh Tu); Vinh Linh 4 (enter Vinh Thuy, Vinh Lam, Vinh Son); Vinh Linh 5 (imported Vinh O, Vinh Ha, Vinh Khe, Ben Quan town).
Through consultation, many voters initially thought that the following communes need to be arranged to promote the historical element of the land "steel - uphole". Therefore, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and the People's Committee of Vinh Linh District agreed to adjust the name of the new commune administrative unit according to the principle of inheriting the meaningful names that the fathers used to use in the past time and promoting the current value.
Accordingly, Vinh Linh 1 commune will be changed to Vinh Linh commune; Vinh Linh 2 commune changed to Vinh Tung commune; Vinh Linh 3 commune changed to Vinh Hoang commune; Vinh Linh 4 commune changed to Vinh Duc or Vinh Thuy commune; Vinh Linh 5 commune changed to Vinh Quan commune or Vinh Khe commune.
"The district has sent a document to the People's Committees of communes and towns requesting to collect voters' opinions on the names of commune-level administrative units after the new adjustment mentioned above and will be completed on April 21" - Mr. Thai Van Thanh said.
Similarly, Gio Linh District People's Committee also adjusted the name of the new commune-level administrative unit after the arrangement when voters had opinions.
Mr. Vo Dac Hoa, Chairman of Gio Linh District People's Committee, said that after arranging Gio Linh district, there were 4 communes, and the locality expected the names of 4 communes: Tay Gio Linh (importing Hai Thai commune, Linh Truong, Gio An, Gio Son); Dong Gio Linh (imported to Gio Mai, Gio Hai, Cua Viet Town); Gio Linh (imported to Gio Quang, Gio My, Phong Binh, Gio Linh town); Bac Gio Linh (imported to Trung Hai, Trung Giang, Trung Son).
When consulting, the voters thought, so the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee agreed to give an additional plan about the name of the commune. Accordingly, Tay Gio Linh commune has the name Option 2 is Con Tien commune; Dong Gio Linh commune has the name Option 2 is Cua Viet commune; Bac Gio Linh commune, called Option 2, is Ben Hai commune; Gio Linh commune remains the same.
Currently, Gio Linh District People's Committee has implemented the collection of voters' opinions on the two above-mentioned options.
Previously, on April 20, the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district (Quang Tri province) also adjusted the commune-level name after arranging from number to place name, in line with voters' wishes.
