On the morning of March 27, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a ceremony to open the technical traffic of the Quang Da bridge project and the approach road connecting Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang City with Dien Tien commune, Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, emphasized the socio-political significance of the project, considering this a symbol of strong solidarity between the two localities. He recalled the history of the main route connecting the two banks of the river during the resistance war against the US, and affirmed that the new bridge will continue that tradition, promote trade, and develop the socio-economy of the whole region.
"During the project implementation process, we encountered many difficulties, from terrain and weather conditions to technical challenges. However, with a high sense of responsibility, close direction from leaders at all levels, determination of the construction unit and support of the people after more than 15 months, we have overcome all obstacles to bring the project to the finish line on schedule, ensuring quality, safety and eligibility to organize traffic on the entire route," said Mr. Le Trung Chinh.
The Quang Da bridge and access road project, started in December 2023, is implemented by the budgets of both Da Nang and Quang Nam. The project has a total length of more than 1.4 km, a scale of 4 lanes, and a total investment of more than 274 billion VND.
Of which, the bridge item is 204m long, 22m wide, the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are more than 1.2 km long, with the starting point intersecting with National Highway 14B in Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city and the end point connecting with the Northern Ring Road project in Dien Tien commune, Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province with a cross-section of 27m - 34m. According to the construction contract, the contractor will complete the construction of the project in May 2025. However, the leaders of Da Nang City have directed to speed up the construction progress and open the project to technical traffic before March 29, in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the two localities.
The opening of Quang Da Bridge is expected to open up many new development opportunities for both Da Nang and Quang Nam. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City believes that the project will maximize efficiency, contribute to the common development of the two localities and be a symbol of lasting solidarity.
