On the afternoon of November 8, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key to the transport sector chaired the 21st meeting of the Steering Committee.
At the meeting, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong said that the Provincial Police are continuing to investigate the case of violating construction regulations causing serious consequences at the Lo River bridge. Along with that, the province has developed a recovery plan, determined to complete before February 2026 (before the rainy season).
Regarding this content, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that, along with conducting an investigation and handling according to regulations, agencies need to accurately assess the current status of the Lo River bridge, report to the Prime Minister in November 2025, if necessary, consider a plan to build a new bridge in emergency conditions.
Regarding key tasks, the Prime Minister first of all requested the completion of the goal of putting into operation at least 3,000km of highways and about 1,700km of coastal roads.
The Deputy Prime Ministers who are Heads of the delegation continue to inspect, review, and remove difficulties and obstacles related to key transport projects for a number of expressway projects with high volumes such as Dong Dang - Tra Linh, Huu Nghi - Chi Lang, Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang.
Contractors immediately adjust construction measures for these projects; depending on the specific situation to mobilize the Army and Police forces to provide additional support.

For the Long Thanh International Airport project phase 1, the Prime Minister emphasized the particularly important role and significance of the project. With the remaining time of 2025 only about 2 months, the remaining volume is very large.
Ministries, agencies, and governing bodies, especially the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), need to urgently find appropriate solutions to increase the construction volume at the site (strive to reach over 20% per month).
Strictly control quality, labor safety, organize construction reasonably and scientifically, especially component project 3 (passenger terminal) and component project 4 (service works); report weekly to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.
The head of the Government assigned Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to directly inspect and urge agencies to promptly resolve problems to speed up the project's progress.
The expressways connecting to Long Thanh airport must be completed before December 19, 2025. The traffic system connecting to Long Thanh International Airport - phase 1 needs to be quickly completed to effectively and synchronously exploit the Project.
The Ministry of Construction and localities need to synchronously deploy a smart transportation system and toll collection, in order to meet modern and safe exploitation requirements; at the same time, create capital to continue investing in new projects and completing expressways. Planning, constructing intersections, service roads, and effectively exploiting expressways when completed.
The Prime Minister also requested Hanoi City and Bac Ninh and Gia Lai provinces to speed up the preparation and approval of the feasibility study report for the Gia Binh airport connection road project to Hanoi, the Quy Nhon - Pleiku project, to be completed in December 2025.
