On June 2, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc chaired a meeting with ministries and sectors on the situation of deploying E10 bio-gasoline nationwide.
Regarding information on the capacity to blend and mix E10 bio-gasoline, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that as of May 30, the whole country has 13/26 key petroleum traders who have been and are investing in a system of bio-gasoline blending stations, including 7 enterprises with a total blending capacity of about 1.1 million m3/month.
After a day of the whole country switching to distributing E10 gasoline for gasoline engines, quick records from market management of some Departments of Industry and Trade and some businesses show that people use gasoline normally.
The basic consumption level is equivalent to before, the biofuel consumption level of the entire system nationwide is about 29,000 m3/day, lower than the gasoline consumption before June 1, 2026 (32,000 m3/day), because some stores still consume the remaining mineral gasoline.
People's reflections in recent days are concerned that E10 gasoline affects the engines of vehicles, there are minor initial incidents such as difficult to start, engine failure (agricultural machinery), but no unfortunate incidents from gasoline have occurred nationwide.

At the meeting, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc stated clearly that we have had a long process of researching E10 gasoline.
Over the past time, information and propaganda work has not been really complete and timely, so there are still some concerns about the deployment of E10 gasoline.
Just like we used to ban firecrackers, require wearing helmets, new issues always have different opinions," said the Standing Deputy Prime Minister.
Government leaders emphasized the need to unify awareness of the role and significance of the deployment of E10 bio-gasoline (mixing 90% mineral gasoline and 10% ethanol fuel produced mainly from agricultural raw materials such as corn, sugarcane, cassava). The deployment of E10 gasoline is a correct policy, in line with the national energy development orientation.
Replacing a part of mineral gasoline with biofuel helps reduce consumption by 10% of mineral gasoline, reduce emissions that cause environmental pollution, reduce carbon emissions, and contribute to diversifying energy supplies, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and strengthening energy self-sufficiency, contributing to ensuring the country's energy security," the Standing Deputy Prime Minister stated clearly.
Information after 2 days of implementation, the supply of E10 gasoline nationwide is basically going smoothly, supply is guaranteed, and the distribution system operates stably, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister said, consumers basically agree with the policy of using biofuels to contribute to environmental protection and reduce emissions.
Petroleum businesses have proactively organized supply to meet market demand, without interruption or shortage.
To continue to deploy E10 gasoline effectively, sustainably and create consensus, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to continue to review and comprehensively assess the process of deploying E10 gasoline nationwide, closely monitor market developments, ensure fuel supply, quality and operation of the distribution system.
At the same time, urgently develop and implement a national unified communication plan on the role, meaning and benefits of E10 gasoline, publicly and transparently disclose information related to standards, quality, compatibility with means of transport and measures to ensure consumer rights; proactively fight against unverified false information.
Along with that, it is required that key traders and businesses producing and trading gasoline, oil and biofuels ensure to maintain stable production and import to supply enough fuel for blending and mixing biofuel, and supply enough E5 and E10 items according to regulations.
