On the morning of June 30, the two provinces of Kien Giang - An Giang held a ceremony to announce the establishment of the new An Giang province on the basis of merging the two provinces of Kien Giang and An Giang; announced the Resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing a party organization, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces, communes, wards, and special zones.
According to Decision No. 328-QD/TW, on June 18, 2025, the Politburo decided to establish the An Giang Provincial Party Committee under the Central Executive Committee of the Party on the basis of merging the Kien Giang and An Giang Provincial Party Committees. The An Giang Provincial Party Committee includes party organizations and party members of the two party committees of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces before the merger.
According to Decision No. 2154-QDNS/TW, dated June 23, 2025, the Politburo decided to appoint the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 67 comrades (38 comrades, members of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee and 29 comrades, members of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee). Appointing the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, including 17 comrades (12 comrades of the Standing Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, 5 comrades of the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee).
The Politburo decided to appoint comrade Nguyen Tien Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Appointed 4 comrades to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee: Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province (to be appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term). Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee: Comrade Ho Van Mung - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee (to be appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term); Comrade Lam Minh Thanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Kien Giang province; Comrade Tran Thi Thanh Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the XV Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee (to be appointed to hold the position of Head of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang Province).
Resolution No. 1736/NQ-UBTVQH15, dated June 24, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee appoints Chairman, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Heads of Committees of the An Giang Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term. Appointing comrade Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term. The Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council include comrades: Le Hong Tham, Dinh Thi Viet Huynh, Giang Van Phuc.
In Decision No. 1261/QD-TTg, dated June 24, 2025, the Prime Minister appointed Comrade Ho Van Mung - Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term to hold the position of Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
In Decision No. 1306/QD-TTg, dated June 24, 2025, the Prime Minister decided to appoint Vice Chairmen of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, including 6 comrades: Nguyen Thanh Phong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Vice Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term; Le Van Phuoc - Member of the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term; Le Trung Ho - Member of the Executive Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Vice Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term; Giang Thanh Khoa - Member of the Executive Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2024-2025 term, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2025 term, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2025 term, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2025 term.
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front decided to establish the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province from July 1, 2025. Recognize the positions in the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province for the 2024-2029 term, consisting of 10 members. In which, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong holds the position of Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
