Request China to support Vietnam to participate in a series of large market sharing activities

On the afternoon of April 15, at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, General Secretary and President Su Lin met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

At the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam requested the two sides to strive to establish a new height for economic, trade, investment and tourism cooperation; strengthen more balanced and sustainable trade cooperation; promote sustainable economic linkages, create breakthroughs in strategic infrastructure connectivity, prioritize railway cooperation, and promote connectivity with Central Asian and European countries.

The General Secretary and President requested China to provide loans, train human resources, and transfer technology so that Vietnam can master the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrified railways; replicate the smart border gate model, and synchronously deploy border economic cooperation zones in border localities.

General Secretary and President To Lam requested China to support and create favorable conditions for Vietnam to effectively participate in the "Share Big Market - Export China" chain of activities, opening up to Vietnamese agricultural, aquatic and livestock products to meet standards; increase the capacity and output of electricity imported from China;

Promoting high-quality investment cooperation, promoting cooperation in science and technology, education and training, finance, agriculture, environment, technology transfer in key technology industries such as artificial intelligence, free trade zones, smart cities, smart manufacturing; treating environmental pollution in major cities; and accelerating the implementation of projects aided by China.

Premier Li Qiang emphasized that China values substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation with Vietnam; proposed that the two sides focus on prioritizing the implementation of cooperation to connect strategic infrastructure, especially cooperation in technology, human resource training, and capital mobilization in the railway sector; effectively implement standard railway projects connecting the two countries, and promote multimodal logistics connectivity.

China is ready to work with Vietnam to promote a more balanced level of trade cooperation, will import more high-quality Vietnamese agricultural products, support Vietnam's participation in the "Share Big Market - Export China" activity chain and cooperate in building cross-border economic cooperation zones.

Premier Li Qiang affirmed that China encourages the expansion of bilateral investment, building safe and stable supply chains and production chains in the region; supports more and more powerful Chinese businesses to expand high-quality investment in Vietnam.

Premier Li Qiang proposed that the two sides jointly research and promote new advanced cooperation fields, focusing on science and technology, digital transformation, innovation, and artificial intelligence to become new bright spots.

The two sides maintain lively people-to-people exchanges; China is ready to work with Vietnam to implement specific programs and plans to implement the 2026 - 2027 Tourism Cooperation Year; promote cooperation in education and training, especially high-quality talents.
