On August 20, in Hanoi, the Military Ceremonial Group, General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day (August 20, 1945 - August 20, 2025) and received the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal.
Politburo member and President Luong Cuong sent a congratulatory flower basket. Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan attended the ceremony.
Also attending were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan awarded the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the Army Ceremonial Corps for their outstanding achievements in training, combat readiness, building the People's Army force, strengthening national defense, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
After 80 years of building, serving, fighting and growing, the Army Ceremonial Group has continuously grown, from "Army Liberation Music Group", "In honor of Uncle Ho and the Party Central Committee's protection team", then the National Army Music Group and the Honorary Battalion of the 47th Regiment.
In March 1979, the Military band and the Honorary Battalion were merged into the "781th Ceremonial Youth Union". In September 1991, the unit was renamed the 781th Ceremonial Group.
In 2002, the Ministry of National Defense issued a decision on the organizational structure to become a full-time Brigade under the Capital Military Region. In August 2008, the Youth Union was transferred to the General Staff and on November 3, 2008, the Ministry of National Defense decided to change its name to the Army Ceremonial Youth Union.
In the current revolutionary period, after nearly 40 years of renovation, the Army Ceremonial Group has successfully completed thousands of ceremonial and funeral tasks; proactively advised, proposed and effectively implemented many innovations in rituals and rituals with leaders of the Party, State and Army, contributing to promoting the image of the Army and Vietnam to international friends.

With a glorious tradition of 80 years and rich lessons learned, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien believes that under the leadership and direction of the Party and State, directly the Party Committee of the General Staff - Ministry of National Defense, all officers and soldiers of the Army Ceremonial Corps will continue to promote the tradition of the Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces in the renovation period; always be a typical force representing the image of the Vietnam People's Army in the most sacred moments and important events of the country and people; excellently complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State, Army and People.
