This afternoon (8.8), in Hanoi, the Propaganda Department - General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) chaired a meeting with the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and History of National Defense and the Department of Politics - General Staff of the VPA - to organize a press conference to introduce the Scientific Workshop "Ministry of General Staff of the VPA - 80 years of building, fighting and growing, steadily entering a new era of the nation".
The workshop aims to affirm and clarify the correct and creative guidelines, policies, leadership and direction of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh for the Vietnam People's Army in general and the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army in particular in the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland.
Speaking at the opening and moderation of the press conference, Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy - Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department - said that the workshop aimed to affirm and honor the glorious feats and achievements of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army over historical periods.
The protection and assistance of the People for the officers and soldiers of the General Staff; the coordination between the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army with agencies and units in the cause of building the Army, consolidating and strengthening national defense, security, and defending the Fatherland.
Introducing the theme, purpose, and meaning of the conference, Colonel Dr. Le Thanh Bai - Deputy Director of the Institute of Military History - said: The conference aims to affirm and clarify the process of building, fighting, and growing up; the heroic tradition and glorious career; the outstanding contributions of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army in the revolutionary cause, contributing with the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people to firmly build and defend the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The workshop also aims to promote the position, role and stature of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; draw historical experiences and lessons to apply to build a lean, compact, strong, modern strategic advisory agency, meeting the requirements and tasks of building and firmly defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new situation.
At the press conference, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doan - Chief of Political Affairs, General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - informed about the birth, maturity, development process and the great contributions of the General Staff to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnam People's Army; activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
The workshop is scheduled to take place on August 14, 2025, at the Ministry of National Defense Hall.
