On September 11, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Central Party Agencies, worked with the Party Committee of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences on the results of Party building work and in performing assigned tasks.
Concluding, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu requested the Party Committee and leaders of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to focus on building a truly comprehensively clean and strong Party Committee, improving the capacity and combat strength of grassroots Party organizations.
Emphasizing that this is a key task, of decisive significance for the implementation of the Institute's political tasks, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat requested the Institute to continue to innovate leadership methods; thoroughly grasp and closely follow the leadership and direction of the Central Government, the Politburo, the Secretariat and General Secretary, President To Lam; ensure the comprehensive leadership of the Party over all aspects of the Institute's activities.
Particularly emphasizing Party building work in terms of ideology, politics, ethics; cadre work, internal political protection work; strengthening solidarity and unity; building a contingent of cadres and party members, especially a contingent of scientific cadres with firm political bravery, aspirations to contribute, preserving the qualities, ethics, and honor of cadres, party members and people working in social sciences and humanities.
The Standing Committee of the Secretariat requested the Academy to focus on strongly innovating methods of performing scientific tasks, raising research and policy advisory capacity, and raising awareness of the position, role and responsibility in the new development stage of the country.
Social sciences and humanities must go one step ahead in researching, discovering, and interpreting new issues arising from practice; both doing good basic research and theoretical research, and must strongly focus on applied research, strategic forecasting and policy advice" - the Standing Secretary of the Secretariat noted.
The Standing Committee of the Secretariat requested the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to proactively build and implement large-scale, long-term scientific programs, focusing on answering major issues of the country raised in the new development stage; focusing on researching new theoretical and practical issues on growth models, modern governance, comprehensive human development, building national value systems, cultural value systems, family value systems and Vietnamese human standards; providing evidence for the effective implementation of Party resolutions.
At the same time, promptly build a mechanism to closely link theoretical research with practical summaries, forecasting and policy advice; strengthen interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary research; promote the specific advantages of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences with a system of specialized research institutes and a team of experts in many fields.
