On the morning of December 26, Cao Lanh City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce Resolution No. 1284/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement and merger of commune-level administrative units of Dong Thap province in the period of 2023 - 2025. Attending the ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thien Nghia; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Kieu The Lam and former leaders of the province.
Accordingly, the entire area and population of Ward 2 will be merged into Ward 1; My Ngai Ward will be established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of My Ngai Commune and the entire area and population of Ward 11. The Resolution takes effect from January 1, 2025.
On this basis, the Standing Committee of Cao Lanh City Party Committee decided to establish Ward 1 Party Committee, with 17 subordinate Party cells, with 1,241 Party members, on the basis of merging Ward 2 Party Committee into Ward 1 Party Committee; establish My Ngai Ward Party Committee, with 18 subordinate Party cells, with 599 Party members, on the basis of merging Ward 11 Party Committee and My Ngai Commune Party Committee. Each Ward Party Committee Executive Board has 15 comrades.
