On the morning of January 8, Can Tho City Police held a Conference to summarize Party work in 2024, chaired by Major General Nguyen Van Thuan - Director of the City Police.
According to Can Tho City Police, in 2024, under the absolute leadership and direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Can Tho City Party Committee..., the City Public Security Party Committee and Party committees at all levels in the City Public Security Party Committee have promoted the highest sense of responsibility, solidarity, unity, overcoming all difficulties; there are many innovations and creativity in the leadership and direction methods of the entire force.
The Party Committee and leaders of the City Police continue to resolutely implement to complete the goals, tasks and solutions on building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, intelligent and modern Can Tho City Police force to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
Can Tho City Police said that up to now, 100% of Commune Police Chiefs have been planned to be members of the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. There are 6 Ward and Town Police Chiefs participating in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee.
The Party Committee and leaders of the City Police have completed the consolidation of the internal organization of the City Police according to Project No. 19/DA-BCA dated July 10, 2023 of the Ministry of Public Security on continuing to consolidate the internal organization of the Police units and localities to be streamlined, compact, and strong.
Through the reorganization of the apparatus, 5 departments and 44 teams have been reduced compared to before the Project was implemented. Currently, the City Police has 36 units (27 departments and equivalent units, 9 district and county units). For the Commune and Town Police, 64 comrades have been added to work at the Commune and Town Police.
Currently, 383 regular police officers have been deployed in 41/41 communes and towns (an average of 9.34 officers/commune/town police officer, exceeding the regulation of the Ministry of Public Security by 1.34 officers), 129 investigators and 10 investigation officers have been deployed in 80/80 police officers in wards, communes and towns (exceeding the regulation of the Ministry of Public Security by 49 investigators and 10 investigation officers); 100% of commune and town police officers have built independent working offices. The target set out in the Resolution has been achieved.
For 2025, the Can Tho City Police Party Committee determined the action slogan "Being exemplary, accelerating, and breaking through in implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws; building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Police", setting out 8 tasks, solutions, and 3 key "breakthrough" solutions in 2025 to focus on leadership and direction for implementation throughout the entire force.
Speaking at the conference, Major General Nguyen Van Thuan - Director of Can Tho City Police emphasized that 2025 is a year of many important events for the country, and at the same time, it is also the year of Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party.
This is also an opportunity for forces to increase their sabotage activities, therefore, comrades in the Party Executive Committee of the City Police and the Police Party Committees of the units continue to maintain the spirit of determination to attack and suppress crime, not to be sudden or unexpected in any situation, not to form "hot spots" of security and order.
